GEN4 Preorder information-
This preorder pertains to the front spindles only. The rears are still in the engineering phase, but will be completed and ready for production once the fronts have finished production. These are very large investments for our small company which is why this is being completed in 2 phases. I understand there may be questions regarding the rear spindles which would need to be addressed before investing in the fronts, so I have addressed rear spindle general specs below-
Rear spindle general specs-
Material and coating identical to the front spindles
1.5" "drop" induced for geometry correction
Houses OEM wheel bearing and retaining ring which can be installed prior to shipment
Caliper ear positioning in relation to hub is OEM
OEM size upper pivot bore and width with optional spherical bearing assembly installed
Spindle geometry will allow larger diameter CV joints/ axles to be used
OEM mounting configuration for wheel speed sensors.
Pricing will be similar to the fronts. Possibly up to 20% extra considering added material and machining time.
1990-2005 MX5 Front Drop Spindle Preorder
Preorder information and ETA-
Gen4 front drop spindles are finally ready for production (10/18/2024). We estimate enough preorders will flow in within the first week or two to order material and begin production. Production is estimated to span 6-8 weeks and ship immediately afterwards. Preorders can be cancelled with a 100% refund before production begins. Once production begins, an email will be sent to all preorder clients.
Our Gen1 spindles started production 11 years ago and the Gen4 will be the final revision. With each generation I have pushed myself to further my engineering skills to produce a more efficient component. With the Gen4s, I will finally lay my creation to rest with contentment. The Gen4 has taken an additional 200+ hours of refinement in CAD and FEA to produce, what I would consider, the most efficient design of any front spindle for a production vehicle on the market.
Construction and geometry-
Material- 7075-t6 aluminum
Mass- 2.000 lbs (lightest spindle, to our knowledge, ever produced for a production vehicle)
Fatigue life- Will withstand infinite and simultaneous 3.5G bump, 2.5G lateral, 2.5 longitudinal forces. Essentially making this a lifelong structural component with the exception of potential crashes.
Stiffness- 30-50% increased stiffness over the OEM assembly under a variety of loading scenarios
1.5" drop/ geometry correction induced for happier roll center, instant centers and steering geometry
Mating-
Accepts OEM upper, lower ball joint studs and tie rod stud.
OEM caliper ear positioning in relation to hub.
Accepts gen3 Toyota MR2 (2000-2005) front hub assembly for increased stiffness and quick replacements. We recommend OEM Koyo units P/N 4355017010. I have found the following website to have the best price. I would recommend purchasing a spare set as every racecar should have spare wheel bearings on hand. These are coming from Japan, so if ordering from there, give yourself ample time for shipping.
ABS-
These hub assemblies have integrated wheel speed sensors. You can purchase wheel speed harnesses for the 2000-2005 MR2 and use in conjunction with your ABS system. In my opinion, the MK60E5 is the most logical ABS option for the majority of MX5s. Below is a thread where a gentleman converted his gen3 MR2 to MK60E5 ABS. Follow his information or others in order to use these hub assemblies in conjunction with that particular ABS module. Essentially, you have a signal from the integrated wheel speed sensor in the hub assemblies. Figure out how to make it work for your ABS needs. If you're inclined to produce a thorough write up for your particular ABS system, I am happy to link it on the website and it would be much appreciated by the community.

What is included-
Both left and right spindles.
8 mounting fasteners for fixturing the hub assemblies to the spindles.
We will provide torque specs for the fasteners which mate the hub assemblies to the spindle. For all other torque specs in relation to the install, refer to OEM.
We do not provide the front hub assemblies. Refer to the part number above and install using the provided fasteners
Pricing-
1000 USD with free shipping in the US. Out of country orders will be charged accordingly. If you are out of the US, please email with shipping details beforehand. I will produce a shipping quote and a custom payment link if acceptable.
