The OEM LFX alternator requires signal from the BCM in order to charge at proper voltage. Since the BCM addition adds drastic complication to the wiring system, it’s generally not installed and the alternator charges at a less than ideal voltage of around 12.9v.

Keisler Automation has developed a solution for the low voltage charge by providing a 4-piece alternator bracket which locates an aftermarket 1-wire alternator that does not require any signals to charge at proper voltage.
